This Cookie Policy explains how Coodes uses cookies, browser localStorage and similar technologies on coodes.org, which items are strictly necessary for the Site to work, which are optional and used only with your consent, and how you can review and change your choices at any time. Effective date and last updated: September 18, 2026.

1. Introduction and Scope

Coodes ("Coodes", "we", "us" or "our") operates coodes.org (the "Site"), a marketplace for premium Web2 and Web3 website and mobile app themes and templates, and a provider of custom development services. Like most websites, the Site stores small amounts of information on your device to function properly and to remember your preferences. We are committed to being transparent about this and to keeping the use of such technologies to a minimum.

This Cookie Policy applies to the Site only. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains in more detail how we process personal data, the legal bases we rely on and the rights you have. It does not cover the websites or applications that you build with our themes; if you publish a website using a Coodes Item, you are responsible for your own cookie notices and consent mechanisms.

2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

2.1 Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your computer or mobile device when you visit it. They are sent back to the website on subsequent visits and allow it to recognize your device. Cookies can be "first-party" (set by the website you are visiting) or "third-party" (set by another domain, such as an analytics provider). They can be "session" cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or "persistent" cookies, which remain until they expire or you delete them.

2.2 localStorage

localStorage is a web storage mechanism built into modern browsers. It lets a website save small pieces of data in your browser, associated with that website's domain. Unlike cookies, localStorage data is not automatically sent to our servers with every request; it stays in your browser and is read by the Site's own code when needed. localStorage data does not expire automatically: it remains until it is deleted by the Site, by you, or by your browser settings.

2.3 Other similar technologies

Similar technologies include sessionStorage, pixels, web beacons and software development kits. Coodes does not use advertising pixels or tracking beacons on the Site. Where this policy refers to "cookies", it includes localStorage and similar technologies unless the context indicates otherwise.

3. Why We Use These Technologies

We use cookies and localStorage for a limited set of purposes:

  • To provide features you request, such as displaying the Site in dark or light mode and keeping a wishlist of Items you are interested in.
  • To remember your cookie consent choice, so that we do not ask you again on every page and so that optional technologies are only activated if you have agreed.
  • To keep the Site secure and reliable, for example through technical mechanisms used by our hosting provider or payment pages to prevent abuse.
  • To understand how the Site is used, through optional analytics, only if you consent, so that we can improve navigation, content and performance.

We do not use cookies for targeted advertising, we do not sell data collected through cookies, and we do not share such data for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Categories of Cookies We Use

4.1 Strictly necessary

These items are essential for the Site to function and to provide services that you explicitly request. Under the EU ePrivacy rules, the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and similar laws, strictly necessary storage does not require consent. You can block or delete them through your browser, but some features, such as your theme preference or wishlist, will then not work as expected. Your cookie consent choice itself is stored as a strictly necessary item, because without it we could not respect your decision.

4.2 Analytics (optional)

Analytics technologies help us understand how visitors interact with the Site, for example which pages are most visited, how visitors arrive at the Site and whether errors occur. These are optional and are disabled by default. They are activated only after you give consent through our cookie banner, and you may withdraw consent at any time.

4.3 Marketing and advertising

Coodes does not currently use marketing or advertising cookies on the Site. If we decide to introduce them in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before they are used.

4.4 Third-party payment pages

When you complete a purchase, you may be redirected to, or interact with, a checkout page operated by a third-party payment processor or crypto payment gateway. Those providers may set their own cookies for security, fraud prevention and session management. These cookies are governed by the provider's own policies, not by this Cookie Policy.

The table below lists the cookies and localStorage items used on the Site. We review this list periodically and will update it if our use changes.

Note: The three coodes_ items are stored in your browser's localStorage, not as cookies. They contain only your preferences, not your name, email address or payment details, and they are not transmitted to Coodes with your page requests.

6. More About Optional Analytics

If you consent to analytics, we may use a privacy-conscious analytics service to measure how the Site is used. Where supported, we configure analytics to minimize data collection, for example by truncating or anonymizing IP addresses, disabling data sharing for advertising, limiting retention and avoiding cross-site tracking. Analytics data is used in aggregated form to evaluate Site performance and content, such as which theme categories attract interest or where visitors encounter errors.

If you decline or withdraw consent, analytics scripts will not be loaded, and no analytics identifiers will be set by the Site. Declining analytics has no effect on your ability to browse the Site, purchase Items or contact us. For information about the legal basis, retention and transfers relating to analytics data, see sections 4, 5 and 7 of our Privacy Policy.

When you first visit the Site, a cookie banner explains our use of cookies and localStorage and asks you to accept or reject optional analytics. Strictly necessary items are used regardless of your choice, because the Site cannot function properly without them.

You can change your mind at any time:

  1. Scroll to the footer of any page on the Site.
  2. Click the "Cookie settings" link. This reopens the cookie banner.
  3. Select your preferred option to accept or reject optional analytics.
  4. Your updated choice is saved in coodes_cookie_consent and takes effect immediately for future page loads.

If you withdraw consent, we will stop loading analytics technologies. Cookies already set by an analytics provider may remain in your browser until they expire, so you may also wish to delete them using your browser settings, as described below. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

8. Managing Cookies Through Your Browser

Most web browsers let you control cookies and site data through their settings. You can typically:

  • view the cookies and site data stored for each website;
  • delete all or specific cookies and site data, including localStorage;
  • block third-party cookies;
  • block all cookies from particular sites or from all sites; and
  • automatically clear cookies and site data when you close the browser.

These options are usually found in the "Privacy", "Security" or "Site settings" section of your browser's settings menu, and in the equivalent settings of mobile browsers. Because localStorage is part of "site data", clearing cookies and site data for coodes.org will delete coodes_theme, coodes_wishlist and coodes_cookie_consent. As a result, the Site will revert to its default theme, your wishlist will be emptied and the cookie banner will be shown again on your next visit.

Browsing in private or incognito mode generally means that storage is discarded when the private window is closed. Please note that blocking all cookies and site data may affect the functionality of many websites, including ours, and that browser settings apply only to the specific browser and device you are using.

9. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

9.1 Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting that sends a signal to websites indicating that you do not want to be tracked. There is no common industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. Because the Site does not engage in cross-site tracking and loads optional analytics only with your consent, we treat a DNT signal as an indication that you do not wish to enable analytics, and we will not load analytics technologies unless you actively choose to accept them.

9.2 Global Privacy Control

Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a browser signal that communicates a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Coodes honors GPC signals. When we detect a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA and similar laws, and we do not load optional analytics unless you give explicit consent through the banner. As explained in our Privacy Policy, we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising in any case.

We use strictly necessary storage because it is required to provide the features you request, which is permitted without consent under applicable ePrivacy rules; the related processing of any personal data relies on our legitimate interests in operating a functional Site. We use optional analytics only on the basis of your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and applicable ePrivacy rules.

Where information collected through cookies constitutes personal data, you have the rights described in our Privacy Policy, including rights of access, erasure and objection under the GDPR and UK GDPR, rights under the CCPA/CPRA if you are a California resident, and rights under the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020. Please note that because the coodes_ items are stored only in your browser, we do not hold a copy of them; you can view and delete them directly in your browser at any time.

Some pages may include content provided by third parties, such as live previews of Items that load third-party libraries, fonts or demonstration data, or checkout flows operated by payment processors and crypto payment gateways. Where such content is capable of setting cookies or accessing device storage, we aim to load it only when needed and, where it is not strictly necessary, only after consent. Third parties are responsible for their own use of cookies, and we encourage you to review their policies. Wallet browser extensions that you install yourself may also interact with web pages, including Item previews; those extensions are governed by their providers' terms.

12. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the technologies we use, in legal requirements or in our business. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. If we introduce new categories of optional cookies or make other material changes, we will ask for your consent again through the cookie banner where required. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
